Donald Trump for President? Could he beat Barack Obama?

Go ahead, laugh at the prospect of the Donald heading into the White House.

Remember though, as goofy as it seems, he is still a serious business man. He is not a cartoon like Charlie Sheen (see Songify This: Winning - a Song by Charlie Sheen), or even Richard Simmons, or other made-for-TV personalities.

Could he help the economy? Could he do worse than President Obama or President Bush?

Could he tell the radical Muslims or Moammar Gadhafi where to stuff it?

Employment?

Would he, unlike Obama, actually get us out of war in the Middle East?

If he runs seriously, it could forever change politics.

I'd love Donald Trump to step up to Osama bin Laden and sternly say, "You're fired."

State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley resigns: Obama Supports Humiliation of Inmates

Apparently, strangely, President Obama supports cruel treatment of military prisoners. Aware of the public outcry, and aware of the statements by P.J. Crowley of seeming abuse of soldier imprisoned on charges of leaking U.S. government documents posted on the WikiLeaks website:

[Pfc. Bradley] Manning was forced to sleep naked for several days under military rules intended to keep maximum-security prisoners who may be suicidal from injuring themselves. Manning's lawyers say he also had been made to stand at attention naked, and that there was no justification for his treatment in custody.

President Obama defended the Pentagon at a news conference Friday, when ABC television reporter Jake Tapper pressed him about Crowley's comments. Obama said he had been assured that Manning's treatment was "appropriate and was meeting our standards."

I'm not sure what to make of this. Amid controversial treatment of prisoners at Guantánamo Bay, and the horrid abuse at  Abu Ghraib, plus concerns about waterboarding, I would have expected our president to take leadership against torture and humiliation, but, instead, he supports it as a standard of the US military.

Looks like this Commander in Chief is like the last Commander in Chief. The difference is, President Bush was direct about what he supported.

The two Koreas are apparently at war, or at least, things seem to be leading that way. Entering the White House, Barack Obama vowed to extract us from war. We are not in this one yet, but he is already talking with China regarding their relationship with North Korea.

While it is a known fact that North Korea's leader is a spineless loudmouth. So is his dad:

"The shelling also comes as North Korea is undergoing a delicate transition of power from leader Kim Jong Il to his young son Kim Jong Un. The son, who is in late 20s, was made a four-star general and nominated to high-ranking Workers' Party posts in the first steps toward eventually succeeding his father."

What a way to start. He's barely out of his diapers, but commands a murderous military inherited from his dishonorable pop.

What will Obama do? It is tricky. Certainly, for now, he is doing what both Democrats and Republicans approve, pursuading. He, nor does any American, does not want the USA to enter another war. Soldiers still fight in Iraq, and that area. However, unlike Iraq, North Korea's nut job president's son is in charge. Iraq's war is led by a scattered crew. Dangerous, yet, but they do not represent a country. Iran has a nut job in charge too.

If everyone puts their guns away, we can move on. If not, will Obama keep his campaign promise, or will he back down in the process of protecting American interests?

A problem for him politically, as whichever way he chooses, he loses. This being true, it does free him at the same time to do whatever is the right thing.

Strange Glee in the White House With Tea Party Victory

Strange glee. The Tea Party crowd won an election in Kentucky. Rand Paul, Ron Paul's son won a primary. It made national news. Why are the Democrats happy?

Meanwhile, our dear President Barack Obama suffers from an all-time low approval rating (42%). While he has pushed the barely supported health care bill forward, nothing has changed. Life in 2010 is pretty much the same as the day before he entered office. He has another year to fix this, but that will come quickly. He cannot delay.

Are the Obama people really concerned Paul's modest victory represents something? Maybe not, but with the gust of wind which blew him into office now a mere breeze, they need to gather up the troops. Since part of the campaign for 2008 was reactionary, they want to grab the antiTea Party movement who do not realize one election in Kentucky is just that.

The Tea Party victory gives the Democrats something to threaten lapsed followers with. "Look, if you don't start lapping at out heels, Sarah Pail will be president. and you know she is not a feminist."

In other words, the antiTea Party movement's energy and fervor needs to be manipulated back into the Obama camp, otherwise the very deft and bright Hillary Clinton will use her increasing influence to steal away the 2012 election. She's already raising interest in her work in China, and her tough talk about Korea.

Obama's Problem Du Jour: Pakistan Muslim Terrorists

It might seem like President Barack Obama's current problem is his nomination of Elena Kagan, as she is being decried by conservatives. The reality both Obama's liberal tendencies, his supporters' patent agreement with his decisions, and conservatives tendency to dislike anything he does is nothing new. We saw this pre-election, both the liberalism, the swooning, and the opposing blind hate.

His problem of the day, apart from the constant issues of the economy, employment market and the non-stop Middle East war, is Pakistan's Taliban.

We are no longer a George Bush nation. Cowboy George has ridden off into the sunset, albeit out on the rails, but he is gone, and has been gone for something like a year and a half.

According to Reuters,

"Pakistani Taliban militants have warned America that it will soon "burn" while calling for Pakistan's rulers to be overthrown for following "America's agenda".

America's agenda is not Bush's agenda. It is Obama's. He owns this one. This doesn't mean anyone thinks the Taliban felt a warm thrill up their leg for Bush. They hated him. They hated America then.

Apparently, the non-love extends to Indonesia as well, where Islamic militants wanted to kill him.

Politically, a mess, of course, as Obama works hard to build a sense of trust so that he can negotiate with the terrorists.

Bigger than that, though, is America's safety, not to mention his own.

While the cowards among those Islamic terrorists are so convinced that no one in their right mind would accept their beliefs, they do try to proselytize through murder. Billy Graham and free will theology is hardly their MO. Obama is working to get beyond this, but is finding that when a group prone to killing, whose goal is to convert the world by force, is difficult, to say the least. He now knows what Bush knew and could not resolve.

Hopefully, Bush's failure will not be Obama's. Bush did, in general, after 9-11, keep America safe.

Barack Obama, a Liberal Man's George W Bush: A cowboy without a hat, he wears a mitre.

Constitutional expert and definer Barack Obama, America's current president, is moving forward with speed toward his health care initiative. It is, of course, his Iraq War. Just as cowboy George pushed the Iraq War on a a public which did not exactly understand, Barack is pushing the health care project.

Just like Iraq, a real threat is before us. With Iraq, we looked at terrorism, now vanquished thanks to Barack's excellent negotiating skills. We were scared and stupid. "Crucify them!" we cried, trading the Barabbas of Truth for the Christ of the Middle East. And crucify them we did, not matter how innocent they were. But thankfully, Barack was chosen by the college of blue birds. With the signal of blue smoke, they announced his elevation, and now, troubles no more. Can I hear a sweet amen from his pews?

Here we are now with another looming disaster, but Barack is here, thank God. He has seen their corruption, their malfeasance, their evil. With health care in disarray, ready to topple Washington DC, a new cowboy has ridden into town. Like George W. Bush, he does not need to work bilaterally, but has an agenda that American must have, lest in fall to the the health terrorist. Free markets have gone on long enough, and need wrangling and slaughtering.

As the Constitution so clearly demands, health care is the right of all, Father B as we lovingly like to think of him, has touched this and is healing America. The Constitution declares: Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and health care to be provided by the people for the people at the expense of the people. A tear in my eye is welling up. Please. I need a moment to salute those blessed words as I type.

Rev. George only looked at Iraq. He, never now to become Pope, did not know what to do with health care. His priorities were short-sighted, incapable of caring for his flock. As such, he only served eight years in office, having been merely elected and not chosen.

In St. Washington's Basilca, Father B. speaks from the chair, and has said that he will do whatever is necessary to ensure health care. The Republicans, or as he refers to them, "separated brethren," will deter him no longer. He is working now to institute Slaughter House Rules (Mother Pelosi is assisting), which will assist him in pushing bills not even the great John Kerry dreamed of in the Crusades of 2004.

Tears run still from my eyes. I know now my sins of trusting the corporate insurance companies. How did I dare think they were good? Why did I let them exist? Why did our forefathers miss the inalienable right of health care? Roosevelt? Truman? Dear lords, how, how, how!

George W., you have failed us, though, like your predecessors, you were only human. Repent, and thank God with us that Father B. is here to hear our prayers.

Pro-Patriot Act President Obama Signs One-year Extension

While this action no doubt will cause freedom-focused citizens to cringe, President Barack Obama's decision to renew the Patriot Act will continue:

* Authorize court-approved roving wiretaps that permit surveillance on multiple phones.

* Allow court-approved seizure of records and property in anti-terrorism operations.

* Permit surveillance against a so-called lone wolf, a non-U.S. citizen engaged in terrorism who may not be part of a recognized terrorist group.

America's President George Bush took considerable heat from Democrats when the Patriot Act was first begun, as they suggested it stole various forms of free speech from average people. Obama is boldly standing against those who were against Bush as he attempts to get his hands around the continued threat of terrorism.

Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. When his people submitted his name to The Committee, they never expected he would win. They just wanted him to look like a peaceful politician. They wanted to market him as the antiBush. Winning presents a problem. Very rarely does the winner stand with so much conviction as to reject the award, and Obama took the prize humbly.

He knows he has not earned anything yet. We are still at war in the Middle East, fully intending to send more troops. He is no pacifist, much to the chagrin of many of his followers. Rather, he sees what Bush saw: a messy problem requiring a messy solution. Unlike Bush, Obama is working hard to present timelines for pullout, and the proof there will happen or not. Hopefully, our troops will be pulled from harm's way soon. Hopefully the job will be done. If not, Obama, in accepting the Nobel Prize today, will have an awkward situation. No doubt careful responses to the war-peace paradox, especially as he gives his speech which will be published across the internet (OK, except for China, North Korea and Iran, three countries dreadfully afraid of free speech.)

North Korea has warned of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula while vowing to step up its atomic weapons programme in defiance of new UN sanctions.

Today's Rodong Sinmun, a state-run North Korean newspaper, claimed the US has 1,000 nuclear weapons in South Korea. Another state-run publication claimed that America had been deploying nuclear weapons in Japan as well.

A publicity stunt that terrified many New Yorkers still leery of another terror attack involving low-flying aircraft cost as much as $357,000 in taxpayer funds to stage over Manhattan, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said today.

The flyby by a plane used as Air Force One and two other Air Force craft shocked commuters in Manhattan and New Jersey and was condemned by furious city and state officials.

In a letter released today, Gates apologized for the incident. The letter was posted on the Senate website of John McCain, the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee. McCain has called the incident an "Air Farce One photo op." Gates in his letter said the cost of a jumbo jet that is used as the president's plane was estimated between $300,658 and $328,835. The cost of two accompanying F-16 jets was $28,177 for a maximum total of $357,012.

In a move that may be somehow justified by peace protesters who thought John McCain was war hungry, and that Barack Obama sought to pull troops away from the Middle East, Afghanistan will be seeing 17,000 new young men and women on the firing line.

While McCain may have done the same thing, that President Obama is adding 50% more troops will exhaust the minds of the sort who used to carry signs in front of President Bush's Crawford, TX home for the same reason.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. Score 1 for McCain: Saddam Hussein's deputy PM faces trial

Politics, and its related victories, are often based on perception. John McCain supported our going into Iraq. So did Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama never wanted us in the war.

All that aside, both Obama and Clinton want us to leave the Iraqis to fight Al-Qaeda alone. And John McCain believes America should help them in this fight.

True? Not that simple, but that's a common view. Ask around, and not just your friends (who might already agree with you). We do not keep a scorecard based on nuance, but on ballpark ideas, often based on part of a quoted speech, or the way they gave that speech.

Now, Tariq Aziz faces trial. Saddam Hussein has already hung. People cheered. Expect cheering again if Aziz is found guilty, and if he is killed as a result.

When the evidence is replayed, do not shield your eyes. Whatever sentence Aziz may be given, or if he is delivered into freedom, we cannot ignore reality. For or against our presence in Iraq, one reality is that tens of thousands of people were killed.

Just like watching Holocaust images, or videos of the 1956 Hungarian fight for freedom, it is reality. So are the 9-11 images. We hate it so much we want to turn our head, let it go away. Aziz's trial will force us to watch.

When the trial gets underway, whomever the American voter sees as better able to counter such hideous violence will score points. It could be that Obama, the supposed argent - or agent, as the case may be - for peace, ala a better version of Jimmy Carter and diplomacy. Or Clinton, with her vast experience internationally, may be seen as the one who can foresee the future. Or McCain, who will likely carry on a card saying, "not in my backyard, punk."

My money is that McCain sees a spike in support. He will be seen as part of the reason Aziz is on trial. Clinton, nor Obama can make this claim, having divested themselves of the war's inception.

Saddam Hussein's deputy PM faces trial

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The trial of Tariq Aziz, one of the best-known faces of Saddam Hussein's former regime in Iraq, and several other former regime officials is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

Aziz and seven other defendants are standing trial for their alleged role in the execution of 42 Iraqi merchants in 1992.

Chief Judge Raouf Rasheed Abdul Rahman said the proceedings were expected to start 5 p.m. local time (10 a.m. EDT). He said the trial was delayed for a few hours for "procedural reasons," a reference to the process of gathering the defendants and bringing them to court.

One of the seven facing trial is Ali Hasan al-Majeed, also known as Chemical Ali. An Iraqi government official said Chemical Ali was not attending the trial on Tuesday because of health issues and the court was not forcing him to attend.

Al-Majeed, who was a top Baathist official during the Saddam Hussein era, is awaiting execution for genocide in connection with the Anfal campaign.

Would an attack relatively close to the US Presidential Election in November ensure John McCain is elected?

Do Americans really have the confidence that either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama are well-equipped with both conviction and skill-set to extract us from Iraq, and protect us here stateside?

While it appears we Americans are disinclined toward being in Iraq, we felt as we felt before 2004 as well, and yet elected George W Bush for a second term with record popular votes.

This is not 2004, and wannabe John Kerry cannot be compared to today's Democratic candidates. He misses the charm of Obama and the experience of Clinton.

And, also important, McCain is not as hated as Bush. McCain misses the personal, evil bitterness that many Democrats feel against Bush, but he also misses the easy-going "Let's get the bad guys," swagger our current president enjoys. McCain is harder to hate, and harder to love.

Where will it land?
As Al Qaeda pretends that they care about Muhammad (there is no peace upon him), or his teachings, and wipe their sacrilegious excrement across the world, they threaten Western Europe. Europe will barely be noticed by the USA, but the smallest burp in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania will be returned with the fastest six guns in the western world.
