WWBD? What Would Barack Do?

  1. Major wars with Afghanistan and Iraq, with taunts by Osama bin Laden.
  2. Massively controversial push for socialized medicine in the name of health care reform.
  3. One year anniversary of Lehman Brothers collapse.
  4. An economy wrecked with unemployment.
  5. Obama's popularity plummeting.
  6. 9-11's eighth anniversary.

Which should President Obama focus on this week? You choose. Only one gets focus. Lip service to the rest.

Then, prepare a big inspiring speech that liberal college students will listen to like girls at a Beatles concert, old liberals will cheer like at a Tom Jones concert, old conservatives will jeer like at a Kanye West concert, and young conservatives will react and join the Young Republicans club at their university.

Obama's Solution to the Economy? Listen to George Bush

Is President Obama taking tips from President Bush on how to resolve our economic troubles? You betcha. By picking Ben Bernanke to be Federal Reserve Chairman once again, Obama is telling Democrats, "When you chose me, you chose George Bush's solutions."

Weird, huh?

Keeping Costs Down, Obama's Inauguration Will Only Be 3.5 Times as Costly

Noting an economy sorely in need of belt tightening, Barack Obama's leadership has decided to keep down inauguration costs to a mere $150 million, just over 350% of what George W Bush spent.

The reasoning is, "Since I'm pulling the troops out of the Iraqi democracy project, I have extra money, or, rather, I will soon enough. Pay it forward, I say.

More than $150 million — and yep, that's the most expensive ever. (By comparison, George W. Bush's 2005 inauguration cost $42.3 million. Bill Clinton managed with $33 million in 1993.)
