The two Koreas are apparently at war, or at least, things seem to be leading that way. Entering the White House, Barack Obama vowed to extract us from war. We are not in this one yet, but he is already talking with China regarding their relationship with North Korea. While it is a known fact that North Korea's leader is a spineless loudmouth. So is his dad:
"The shelling also comes as North Korea is undergoing a delicate transition of power from leader Kim Jong Il to his young son Kim Jong Un. The son, who is in late 20s, was made a four-star general and nominated to high-ranking Workers' Party posts in the first steps toward eventually succeeding his father."
What a way to start. He's barely out of his diapers, but commands a murderous military inherited from his dishonorable pop.
What will Obama do? It is tricky. Certainly, for now, he is doing what both Democrats and Republicans approve, pursuading. He, nor does any American, does not want the USA to enter another war. Soldiers still fight in Iraq, and that area. However, unlike Iraq, North Korea's nut job president's son is in charge. Iraq's war is led by a scattered crew. Dangerous, yet, but they do not represent a country. Iran has a nut job in charge too.
If everyone puts their guns away, we can move on. If not, will Obama keep his campaign promise, or will he back down in the process of protecting American interests?
A problem for him politically, as whichever way he chooses, he loses. This being true, it does free him at the same time to do whatever is the right thing.

What is the right thing?
I wish I knew. And more important, I wish President Obama knew. From all views, outside of the most conservative (here I mean more conservative than Glenn Beck), his take on the war issue is similar to George Bush's.
On one hand, I'm not surprised. He sees things before he was not privy to. He sees how muddy, how insidious terrorism is. On the other hand, he was presented as fundamentally against war, a conviction which no amount of detracting evidence should change.
North Korea's leadership seems similar to Iran's in some way. At the top, both guys are nutjobs, filled with egos. The next level down, say the equivalent of a cabinet, is were the complexities happen. Iran appears to hate the West more, but N. Korea sounds to me more trigger happy, but Iran also hates Jews and non-Muslims.
Who do we fear more? How do we create peace with either?
Politically, Obama has lost points, but hopefully, he will disregard what polls are saying and be decisive one way or another.
